Looking for the best organized mountain bike adventure in North America?  Do you want a two wheeled singletrack escape from everyday life with 300 like-minded mountain bikers from all over the world?

Consider these reasons to register today for North America’s original, epic, singletrack mountain bike odyssey:

After 12 years in the saddle, the TransRockies organization is ready for the best ever edition of the now legendary event. The TransRockies mountain bike race has always been known for back country adventure, spectacular scenery, camaraderie and teamwork. In recent years, we’ve been constantly innovating to bring you more high quality singletrack riding, a better participant experience, and more options with our TransFondo, TR3 and TR4 offerings.

This year will epitomize the TransRockies legend of true mountain biking adventure, and at the same time offering the best mountain bike event experience anywhere. TransRockies is still a “difficult but doable” mountain biking adventure, but it also offers the best riding experience on mountain trails, and the best rider support of any mountain bike stage race in the world.

Great Route

We have made some huge route improvements in the past few years with three new stages designed to eliminate road riding and increase the amount of time spent on high quality trails. A shorter, better, rideable route means that participants will spend at least 70 per cent of their time riding on trail each day while still enjoying the unique TransRockies mountain bike race mix of wilderness camping, Western Hospitality and complete support.

The TransRockies mountain bike race continues to put more “mountain” in your mountain biking with a route across the top of the Canadian Rockies in high alpine wilderness and through Kananaskis Country, one the Jewels of Canada’s Park system. Riders will cross the Continental Divide on their way to Canmore on a route which includes almost zero traffic, cities and strategic bus transfers designed to maximize your enjoyment.

Later Start Times

We’re using the shorter daily stages to tighten up our daily itinerary giving you an extra hour in bed each night thanks to later start times and earlier awards presentations. Our normal starting time is 9am and there are NO early morning ferry rides :). A new “relaxation expo” will provide a great venue for after-ride unwinding and earlier awards ceremonies will give you more time for unwinding.  In 2012, the TransRockies mountain bike race will combine the ultimate adventure with the most relaxed daily schedule.

Thanks to our new schedule, TR riders will get a better night’s sleep.  This year we are also offering a premium sleeping pad option and opportunity for more tent space. You can leave your sleeping pad at home and rent one of ours for a nominal fee, giving you more room in your gear bag and less stuff to move around. We’re also offering a convenient option to upgrade to single occupancy tent camping.

Friendly and Supportive Checkpoints

Our checkpoint teams are sprinkled throughout the course at regular intervals, offering a wide variety of nutritional options to refuel and keep on going. And our friendly checkpoint teams will always offer a smile and encouraging words to keep you energized and on your way! And at the finish line, you’ll find a bonus checkpoint to get you started with post-ride recovery!

Incredible Meals

The meals package is optional (but recommended) and offers great taste, nutrition and variety to meet everyone’s requirements and wishes. Even in the remote tent camps at Little Elbow, we offer food that is plentiful, delicious, and healthy.

Fully Supported Wilderness Camps

The TR4 portion offers 3-nights in our wilderness tent camps, which are fully supported with tents (set-up and take-down included), duffel bags and bag transports, hot showers, plentiful toilets, waste management and recycling services, and even satellite internet!

World-Class Medical

We partner with a world class medical team offering expert emergency medical assistance on-course and in camp. At each finish line you will find a fully-equipped hospital trailer and trained medics ready to help with any complaint.

On-Course Ambassadors

Need a little help on the trail? These TransRockies veterans are here to help. Our team of friend course ambassadors are on course with extra tools, parts, and moral support to help you get through the stage.

Customer Service Team

At every finish and in camp, our crew is there to help. If you need anything, simply ask at the race office or any of our crew.

Daily Presentations

Nothing brings a great day to an a close quite like reliving the highs and lows on the big screen! Along with daily awards presentations, we bring you daily slide shows from our team of professional photographers and videographers.

Great Rider Swag

All TransRockies Participants will receive a custom Louis Garneau TransRockies jersey, TransRockies duffle bag, a t-shirt and lots of great product gifts from our sponsors including a box of honey stinger bars, and a pound of Kicking Horse Coffee! In addition, there are daily awards for podiums in each category, plus random and draw prizes. 7-day finishers receive a finisher’s medal and finisher’s t-shirt.

Professional Timing

Means instant access to unofficial results at the end of each stage, and complete and accurate results on our website.

Massage Access

Catalyst Sports Massage is ready to treat you at each finish line. Be sure to book in advance for this popular service. Massage is available on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Bike Service

To ensure that your bike shifts as smoothly on Stage 7 as it does on Stage 1, you will find lots of experienced mechanics at each finish line and camp. Replacement parts are also available.

New TR Amenity Shuttles

While TransRockies prides itself on the most complete support in the sport in our race villages, sometimes nothing replaces a quick run into town to find cell phone coverage and make a quick call home, do some laundry, or stock up on basics from the general store. By running shuttles to town, we’re balancing the beautiful wilderness aspects of the race with a little more civilization for the riders that need it.
