The focus of the Ladies Only Weekend is relaxation, restoration, health, balance and education. Not only will you be guided on some amazing trail running but you’ll get an evening of wine tasting and tapas courtesy of The Iron Goat and The Cellar Door, inspiring speakers, trail running tips, and so much more.
This two day running camp is designed for those:
– curious about trail running and where to begin their journey to becoming a ‘Trail Strider’
– wanting education on technique, training, nutrition or gear
– looking to hone their already developing trail running skills
– wanting to increase their confidence on the trail
Date: June 8-9th, 2013
Distances: 5k, 10k, or 15k. We will break into groups based on comfort level and ability. Trail sessions will include running and walking as we work through skills.
Location: Canmore Nordic Centre.
*No Refunds. Substitutions are permitted prior to June 1st , 2013 and subject to a $20 Administration Fee.
9-10AM: ‘Trail Running Basics’ (technique, gear, etc…) – Canmore Nordic Centre.
10-12PM: 5k,10k or 15k Walk/Run ‘Intro to the Trail’ at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Skills, pacing, descending, climbing, etc…
12-1PM: Lunch catered by the Canmore Nordic Center.
1) Imagination Workshop with Marty Hansen, M-2 Sport (www.m-2sport.ca) – learning to use the strength of imagery / visualization training for running.
2) ‘Where to Run – Trail running in Calgary, Canmore and beyond’.
3-5PM: Hotel Check-in
5-8PM: Wine tasting and tapas at the Iron Goat.
9-10AM: Breakfast on own.
10-1PM: 5k, 10k or 15k Walk/Run on Local Trails.
1:00-1:30PM: Shower at Elevation Place.
1:30-2:00PM: Lunch at Elevation Place.
2-3 PM: ‘Running Healthy – Staying Injury Free’.
3-4PM: Wrap up and question period.
