June 20th, 2013 – Calgary, Ab
The team at TransRockies Events is saddened to announce the cancellation of the 3rd annual The North Face Rundle’s Revenge presented by GSL GM City. We have been in close contact with the staff of the Canmore Nordic Centre and feel that the safety of our athletes would be at risk if we were to host the event this weekend. The quality of the trail system has been compromised due to the large amount of rain. Placing 500 athletes on the Nordic Centre trails would simply be too dangerous and potentially cause more damage to the exceptional Nordic Centre.
We would like to extend the following offer to all athletes who have registered and paid for the 2013 event:
Transfer of your 2013 Rundle’s Revenge entry to any event or distance at the 2014 The North Face Rundle’s Revenge. Athletes who have paid for their entry will receive an email by 5:00 PM on Monday, June 24th with a code to register for the 2014 event and a link to the registration page. To take advantage of this offer you must register by 9:00 PM mountain standard time on July 5th, 2013.
We thank you for your support of our event and hope that all Albertans are safe from harms way. If you would like to speak with a member of the TransRockies Events team, please call 403-454-6577.
A Message from the Canmore Nordic Centre
12:00pm Thursday, June 20, 2013
Due to significant rainfall and potential for flooding, all trails at Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park are currently closed. This closure will remain in effect until the threat of flooding subsides and trails can be surveyed for damage. Although some trails may reopen in time for the weekend, several are expected to remain closed until necessary repairs are made. For this reason, Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park supports the decision of TransRockies Inc. to cancel the 2013 Rundle’s Revenge event.
