So who else is looking forward to a little pain and suffering this summer? Does a steady 7-day IV drip of lactic acid with the occasional relief of 2000' descents and ice-cold river crossings appeal to you? If so, I want to hear from you.
Some background info on me:
- male, age 39
- no kids, wife rides/races too (no major time constraints on training)
- live in Calgary (SW, near Fish Creek Park)
- relaxed personality (unless hungry, you know what I mean don't you?)
- CNC machinist (mechanically adept, never had a mechanical in a race)
- prior race experience
- TR2004 (with my wife as teammate..... and we're still married )
- Cascade Creampuff 100 (2003-2004)
- Test of Metal (1999-2004)
- various Alberta & BC races, 24 Hrs Canmore (1997-2004)
Goals for TR2005
- to catch those sneaky bastards in front of us
- finish each day with no major mishaps (physical, mechanical, or otherwise), gas tank on empty, and smiling
- no set goal as far as ranking, it's all relative to the competition
- I'd prefer someone my speed or marginally faster (for reference, 37-40 hours would have been a realistic time for me last year if riding solo)
Ideally I would prefer to partner with someone local (training, potential sponsorship appeal) and 41+ age but am definitely open to all possibilities, male or female.
OK, enough about me. Let's hear about you. Contact me at bike2xs@hotmail.com or 403-263-2649.
Cheers,
Dave Ford |

| Thanks for the replies/offers but I have found a teammate, a friend who did TR2004, Gerry McQuaig. The Deadgoat Racing Retreads are now ready to rumble. |
