You've changed your drivetrain, replaced your tires and had your fork overhauled. What else can you do to help you on the TR?
Change your blood. You've got veins full of old tired red cells. Go to your local blood donor clinic and they'll drain your old red cells to make room for new higher performance red cells. (I suspect that the coffee and cookies form a significant part of the benefit, but the placebo effect can not be underestimated.)
If you donate whole blood your body replaces the red cells in under 4 weeks, if you donate platelets and/or plasma they're replaced in 24-48 hours.
In Canada you can call 1888-2DONATE (1888-236-6283), or go to blood.ca, for a clinic near you.
The TransRockies is part of the Partners for Life programme and has a target of 80 donations from riders and supporters by the time the TR starts. When you check in just tell them that you are part of the TransRockies Partners for Life group.
In Canada blood donations are handled by Canadian Blood Services and In many other places they are handled by the Red Cross. |
