What was the medicated cream that the 06 TR medic staff had on hand for the asking. Even on a FS bike, my butt needed it by day five. I am doing LA Ruta this year on a hardtail or 29er softtail and would like to see if I could my local doc to make some for me.

And for those of you who have done La Ruta or have an opinion on the 29er vs 26 debate, any suggestions on whether I should ride my sub 20 lb carbon hardtail or 25 lb Salsa Dos Niner soft tail? Thanks.

Marty's Magic Butt Cream is its unofficial name. I think it's a sweet combination of petroleum jelly, camphor, Lanacane cream and something else...

Anyone else remember.

If I remember correctly the ingredients were Lanacane and Polysporin and it worked wonders.

I watched them mix up a batch. It was Extra strength Polysporin and prescription strength topical anesthetic.

Come to think of it, the pain killing ingredioent was Xylocaine jelly. A very different beast from Lanacane.

Marty actually discloses the recipe in the 2005 video.
