|
|
Hi fellow riders,
I'm looking for a partner for this year's TR as my planned partner recently crashed and is likely out of action for the race.
I raced the TR last year and am eager to race it again. I have been in active training for the past 18 months. I know from experience the value of matching partners, so I am primarily interested in someone from around the Bay area that I could ride with to see how well we work together. If nothing else, I figure I might find someone else local that I could ride with!
Brief description: I'm 37 and recently got into racing but have ridden all my life, including 365 days a year when living in Canada (Edmonton and Calgary). I thrive on technical uphills. I'll reride the same pitch 20 times to find a new line or refine my climbing. I'm moderately fast on downhills, but my strength is clearly going up. I'm ideally looking for a partner that has a solid aerobic base, is a good climber, has a great sense of humor, appreciates the Canadian Rockies, and knows how to fix their bike
Shoot me an email, or reply to this thread and we can talk about hooking up for a ride.

Saw your post and thought there might be some potential to be partners. Have you already registered?
I was in the Bay area '93-'03 but have since moved to Nice, France for a few years due to a work opportunity.
I'm 43, so we could enter 80+. I've ridden road and MTB for 20 years, but rarely trained and never raced until about 5 years ago, when I began to train more intelligently/seriously. I've done 140km/5000m one-day MTB races in Europe in 9 hours, and I routinely do 3000m+ climbing days on the road bike, so I should be capable of decent TR stages. Noticed your comment about fixing the bike -- I'm a solid bike mechanic and have been known to work some creative miracles with other bikes in my group on many occasions, usually in remote areas.
Shoot me an email at tdashvial@ti.com (replace dash with - ) and we can chat more about relative fitness, personality, etc.
Cheers ... Tom |
