Hi there,

Saw this thing on ride guide and now have saved some money to enter. Tried to find some one in the UK to come over with me but as its main summer leave most have family/girlfriend comitments.

Am looking to do this for two reasons:

1. The chalange - although i ride things like the etape du tour and 24 hour races, the idea of riding across the rockies in some of the most demanding enviroment really appeals to me.

2. Timing - falls right in the middle of my holidays so i know i have the time off work

As for me, well havinbg done alot of 6 and 7 day cat 1 road races in france and holand as a younger man i undestand the beating your body takes on these things.

As for mountain biking have compeated in several 24 hour races in the uk, they were very muddy 10cm of flowing mud. add to that the 100km enduros and a real loove for going down hill fast and you should get the picture.

Who am i lookng for?

Well am 29 years old and at present do about 100mile a week on the road bike and about 50miles on the mountain bike (still darke about 1530 over here) but looking to increase that to about 200-300 miles befor the race so should be in good shape (i hope) wanting to do this mor as a chalange than a race but if were in contention i will be wanting to compete (in nature)

Any how if your looking for a relaxed easy going partner then get in touch.

Jason

41 views and no reply! What a bummer Jason, you're obviously putting a few people off with that high mileage already.

Kidding aside, there's a whole bunch of us doing it but were a bit older than yourself and perhaps a little less competitive. I do know a few upstarts who may be interested in partnering you. I'll put the word around.

What UK events are you planning to do in the meantime? The Merida in April?

Jason, Have you found any teammates for this years race yet? I'm looking to do the race this year as well.
