Hi All,



I've managed to tear the meniscus in one of my knees late last week and have been following the doctors orders to do nothing, with the hopes that the outer tear can heal enough for me be able to (just barely) compete in the race.



I'm tossing the idea around of not riding, to save my knee from further damage and surgery. I hate the idea, but it might be the better choice.



I wanted to see if there's anyone out there that would be looking for a partner on really short notice? My riding partner (one of my best friends) is a 20 year old, great guy, solid rider and makes for great company.



Conversely, does anyone have any words of wisdom when it comes to a race of this magnitude and such injuries?

My advice would be to take the hit and not race.



Better to do that than have to drop out before the end forcing your buddy / partner to find someone else to complete the race with mid way through the race.



You could sort him out with a new partner and go long as his admin support / race support volunteer.
